F. C. McConnell |
FRANK C. McCONNELL, caterer,
No. 23, Main street, Warren, O. Frank C. McConnell is a
native of this city, where he was born Nov. 24, 1858. His
father, James McConnell, was a native of Weathersfield
township, born June 6, 1814, and his mother, Sarah S. McConnell
a native of Poland township, Mahoning county, where she was born
Nov. 23, 1820. Our subject received his education in the
schools of Warren city. The elder McConnell established
the business now conducted by Frank C. in 1860, and conducted
it till 1886, when the latter became the sole proprietor. At
this popular cafe and restaurant, which is open day and night, may
be obtained meals or lunches cooked to suit the most fastidious.
The dining parlors are located on the second floor, a private one
being maintained for the accommodation of ladies, and the cuisine
and service are unexcelled. McConnell also acts as
caterer for party, club and society dinners. Fraternally he is
past grand of the I. O. O. F. and past chief patriarch in the
Militant Degree of the same; also a member of the K. of P., F. & A.
M., B. P. O. E. and Royal Arcanum lodges. He was an active
member of the Warren fire department and is still an honorary member
of the same. Politically he is a staunch republican, and one
of the solid business men of the city.
