CALEB JONES,
farmer, P. O. Dundee, was born in
Austintown, Trumbull Co., Ohio,
July 26, 1817. He is a son
of Caleb and Nancy
(Barkhammer) Jones, natives
of Pennsylvania, who came to
Trumbull County, Ohio, thence
moved to Holmes County, where
they died. Caleb Jones,
Sr., was a farmer by
occupation. Of the large
family of twelve children, two
have survived, Caleb and
Nathan the latter of whom
lives in Kansas. Caleb
received his education from the
common schools of this vicinity,
and in 1850 was married to Rebecca
Lonnon; she is a daughter of Thomas
and Rebecca (Ammon) Lonnon.
Of the family of eight
children born to this union, five
are living, viz., Beriah,
Edward John, Mary Vietta (wife
of Clinton L. Sliffe), Nathan,
Kettis. The deceased
are Sarah (wife of William
Burkholder), LaFayette
and Thomas Elmer.
The family are members of the
Christian Church. Mr.
Jones owns a fine farm,
consisting of 500 acres, all
well-improved land, with good
farm building erected thereon.
