  ALEXANDER JOHNSON, b. in county Tyrone, Ireland, 1772; emigrated to America and settled at Wilmington, Del.., in 1783, thence removed to Butler county, Penn., and in 1814 settled near Jefferson, German township, Harrison county, where he d. 1869; m. in Pittsburg, Mrs. Eleanor Brown Work (widow of William Work), b. 1787, in Baltimore, Md.; d. 1862; had issue; 1. Andrew, d. in Sparta, Ill.; 2. John, b. 1814; d. 1875; 3. Nancy; 4. Alexander, b. Aug. 18, 1818; settled in Rumley township about 1883; m. Dec. 7, 1852, Margaret Galbraith, daughter of Samuel Galbraith, who with his wife, was a native of Ireland, and who removed from Pennsylvania to Harrison county (had issue: i. John; ii. Samuel; iii. Alexander, settled in Columbus, Ohio; iv. Ellen Jane; v. Isabella Ann, m. Michael Finical); 5. Mary, m. Joseph Hamilton.
