Gallia County (pronunciation: GAL-ee-uh or GAL-yuh) is a county located in the state of Ohio, United States. As of 2000, the population is 31,069. Its county seat is Gallipolis6. Its name is the Latin word for "France", so called because many immigrants from that country settled here.
