BLOOMINGBURG PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH was
organized in 1817 and is in the village of Bloomingburg in
Fayette County, Ohio. Reverend William Dickey who served
this church for 40 years was a brother to Reverend James
Dickey who served Pisgah and Hickskin churches. |
|
PISGAH CHURCH was organized in 1811.
The original church and cemetery were on the Good Hope - Austin
Road, and the old cemetery is still there. About 1860 the
present church was built on the Good Hope-Lyndon Road. The
church is on the right going south out of Good Hope in Fayette
County, Ohio. Or turn off State Route 28 just west of
Lyndon in Ross County and the church is on the left, soon after
crossing Route 128. |
|
WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
was organized in 1817 and stands on the corner of Hinde and
Market streets opposite the Postoffice. The members of
this church and the one in Bloomingburg often were dismissed
from one to be received in the other. |
|
NOTE: Ministers who served in
one of these churches often served in one or more of the others.
Many families appear in the records of two or more of these
churches, so that the early records of all of them should be
examined.
