     THOMAS STEWART, aged ninety-two years, of East Newton, Ohio, was a private in the Hundred and First Ohio regiment, and took part in the battle of Perryville, where he was complimented for his bravery and soldierly bearing.  He has four sons, two grandsons and three sons-in-law at present in the army.  He was born at Litchfield, Conn., where his father now resides, aged one hundred and twenty-two years.

     Ex-Episcopal Cleric In Catholic Robes
    
ROCKFORD, Ill., March 22 - (UP)
- A former Episcopal clergyman, whose father is a Methodist minister, was ordained a Roman Catholic priest today.  The new priest, the Rev. James A. Vanderpool, received holy orders from the Most Rev. John J. Boylan bishop of Rockford, in St. James' Cathedral. 
     Father Vanderpool will say his first mass tomorrow in the Church of the Holy Cross, Batavia, Ill.  He formerly was rector of the Calvary Episcopal Church of Batavia.  A native of Perrysville, Ohio, he is son of the Rev. William S. Vanderpool of Anadarko, Okla.
