NOTE: Life is
full of changes and changes are what is happening here at Ohio Genealogy
Express. It is back to just me doing the transcribing
and updating along with the wonderful contributors of data who,
incidentally do some transcribing of their own.. In all reality, things will probably move a
little faster now. Keep checking back.
Thank you to all who have
contributed to OGExpress. It is greatly appreciated!
With this... I am doing my
very best to keep this site updated every day. I do need a little help from my viewers.
I keep track of what everyone is looking at and
try to keep up with it. If I see someone is looking at Adams County, I
try to update it ASAP If I see someone is looking at Sandusky County,
I try to update it ASAP. Please do me a favor and sign my guestbook
and put the areas and names you are researching. I will check it
periodically and try to help you find things for your trees. It
will also help other's searching your lines to contact you as well.
This is what Ohio Genealogy
Express is all about. FREE GENEALOGY RESEARCH. I am not in this for the money. This is My
Contribution to Humanity.
Thanks to all who visit. Sincerely, Sharon Wick Owner of Ohio Genealogy Express.
WELCOME TO 2015
Greetings All you Genealogy Novices & Gurus!
Starting out slow this month. Have a problem
with my neck hurting (this happens on occasion) and so I
have been going to bed earlier.
Also... with my Illinois trip right in the middle of the
time I usually take to do my gardening, I have had to try to
catch up on that as well as spring cleaning in the summer.
Also... I have found some broken links and I want to get all
those straightened out so that you can get where you want to
go on the website.
So much to do and life is must moving along.
I will be having ANOTHER one of those Birthdays this month.
Time just flies, doesn't it?
I enjoy what I do and I enjoy helping people make their
I myself finally found my great grandmother McPheron /
Adkins' death certificate and her house!
Wow!!!! What an exciting find.
My mother's father passed away in the influenza epidemic in
1918 and with that was kind of a falling apart of that part
of the family.
Thanks to my distant cousin, Paula, I have copies of
wonderful portraits of my great grandmother and grandfather
My cousin, Paula passed away last September in a motorcycle
accident, May She Rest in Peace.
I do know one thing, and that is... If you have a suspected
source, pounce on it because from what I have seen in my own
family tree, most of my sources have passed on to the Great
Had I procrastinated, I wouldn't be as far as I am in my own
I still have several "Brick Walls" to conquer.
One is my Love branch. The farthest back I have found
them is in Lawrence Co., Indiana.
Another is my Earp branch. The farthest I can find my
great great grandmother Milly Earp is in 1853 when she
married my great great grandfather. Simon P. Earp
assumed guardianship over her so she could get married and
his son, Frank and his wife, Mary Earp signed the marriage
Simon lived in Shelby Co., Illinois.
I found her with her new husband in Linn County, Missouri in
And I also know she was remarried to her 2nd husband, George
Leonard in Moultrie Co., Illinois.
Milly Earp was also living in Macon Co., Illinois after her
1st husband died of disease in the Civil War.
I had a nice
visit with my 97 year old mother in June/July this year.
Didn't get to spend much time at the library as she had
plenty for me to do.
No prob. I will go there in the fall during my

I am not happy that
Heritage Quest has merged with Ancestry and it is, in my
opinion, a mess.
We didn't find much on Ancestry as it was and now we are
going thru the same thing with the merge. I just loved
the Old Heritage Quest.
Keep on coming back and checking the
You can see what I have been up to. Just
remember, just because I don't have much on the calendar
sometimes, doesn't mean I am not doing research for new
additions or just research for individuals.
Remember... I don't research if it costs me money as this is
a Free Website and I don't make any money extra to travel or
order documents. I Don't charge dues to my transcribers like
another website does so I do NOT make any more money than
what I get occasionally and during the months of October,
November and December to keep the web-domain paid up.
You can see how many donators I have on my
I don't list the amounts as some are bigger and some are
smaller and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
During the donation months, I do keep a running tab so that
you can see how much I have for paying the website fees.
Thank Goodness I have no Bad News so far
We need to pray that all goes well and my June/July trip is safe
Well almost uneventful. My car battery went dead
as soon as I parked my car in Peoria this time.
Looking at the bright side, how lucky is it that I didn't
get a dead battery on the way here. :-)
Other than that,
do need those who have send lookup requests to me that have
not been answered yet, to re-send them as the email
does get backed up in that department and sometimes it is
just hard to catch of while still trying to put updates
online. I am not ignoring anyone and so again, please
re-send the requests.
With that... I will get back to doing what I do best, typing
my fingers to the bone. :-)
If you would
like to contribute to keep this website going, you can use
below or send it by snail mail. If you prefer snail
mail, you can
for my address to send it to.
I use the money for the domain and server fees. If
there is any extra, I will purchase more data to transcribe.
There usually isn't any extra though.
I'm working on year #8 now and I hope I can give some type
of help to someone that is at their 'brick wall' by keeping
this website relatively simple to navigate.
With no muss, no fuss and just getting the information 'out
there' in cyberspace for all you good people so that you
might find leads in finding your 'roots'.
I have corresponded with some very nice people and along the
way found things for my own family tree.
I want to send out a BIG THANKS to all of you who make it
worth it by sending nice emails to me and occasional
For those of you that don't, I am just pleased that I can
help you all as well.
I will continue to get the data 'out there' for you as it is
my passion to help.
And besides that, I like to type. :-)
I am hoping to bring more and more NEW data as time goes on.
Keep checking back often.
Have a wonderful month,
Please check the
Calendar of Updates.
You can click the links at the top of that page to go to

I have been trying to add data that people have been
Be sure and Don't be
afraid to ask me to transcribe biographies of people listed
on all the county and state pages. That's what I do
and that helps me get motivated on each county site.
Please, Please include the name of the person, the county
and state that you found them in as it makes it a lot
easier for me to find them.
It also makes me curious about what else I can find on the

My website will ALWAYS be free as long as I can keep it
online. I will assist in research as long as it is within my
means. But not if it will cost me money.
That is only fair as I don't charge for this website.
I am still trying to get more biographical indexes
If I haven't answered your queries, it is
because that is not the only way people can contact me.
I answer lots of queries as time allows.
I will eventually get back to those who ask questions.
UPDATE ON KITTY....
It is now August, 2015 and Kitty is STILL hanging in
there... I brought her to Illinois with me and
she looks kind of homesick. Her appetite goes up and down. I
think it is because she hurts. I really don't know for
sure as she quiets down when I feed her.
She stopped jumping on the stool next to the computer as she
seems to be getting weaker. She
will meow a bunch and then after a while she will start
pawing me over and over trying to get me to feed her or just
give her love..
Just a little at a time.
She is close to 19 years old now.
My sweet cat has Lymphoma.
She is taking steroids to prolong her good health for a
Kitty tries to go outside but is a little afraid yet.
UPDATE ON THE DOG SITUATION:
BUDDY, the Wonder Dog! :-)
Here is a picture of Jim with his new "Buddy"
This dog has really taken to Jim.
(and I think to me as well) Already he sleeps with him and he is well trained, letting
us know when he needs to go outside.
Buddy has turned out to be such a good dog.
He seems to be a keeper. :-)
His one fault is.... he likes cat food. I have to put
a gate up to keep him from eating Kitty's food.
The words "Bye Bye" cannot be said in this house without
Buddy crying and barking and howling.
There is a new K-9 Confectioner in town. We take him
there and he gets to go inside and smell the dog treats.
They have all kinds of shapes, sizes and colors of dog
Some look like frosted sugar cookies but they are all made
with ingredients for dogs.
He LOVES that place. We usually by him a bag of
goodies at approx. $8 - $10 dollars.
We could get 5 times or more as much at Dollar General. lol.
We have to spoil him. That is our job.\
We took Buddy to the vet in July, he had ear infections but
we have treated them and he is doing better. I made
him a nice bed in the living room so that maybe he will stop
jumping on the chairs. ahhahahha
I keep finding
new material for OGE that I have been trying to get online.
Keep track of the UPDATES
CALENDAR to see what I am doing.
It is the best source for updates.
AGAIN...... I am
a little behind on my 'REQUESTS' EMAILS so don't be shy....
REMIND ME! I am getting old. hahahahhahah
That is all I have to say right now but I
will keep you updated.
See ya in the emails, Yer Trusty Dusty Webmaster....
Oh and one more thing....
if anyone wants to make a donation so that I can find more
data to transcribe, feel free to DONATE
